Day 8

Disneyland! (California Adventure)

So...DISNEYLAND! well i obviously didnt get up very early :P AS USUAL, but luckily california adventure opens at 10am...so NO WORRIES THERE ;) i had breakfast at the breakfast place in the hotel...and then we went en route to CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE!! the reason we went to california adventure the first day was because, NONE OF US COULD GET UP...after the exhuasting day at universal studios.. (WE DIDNT KNOW HOW MUCH MORE TIRING DISNEYLAND-ING WOULD BE >__>;). So we got into adventure and YAY FOR FASTPASSES!! so, how these little magic tickets work is that, you get a fastpass for a ride you really want to go on, but has a huge line (AND ONLY SOME OF THE AWESOMER RIDES HAVE FAST PASSES ;) ) and then after a certain time, you can come back and bypass the huge line..while waving bye to those suckers waiting in line in the heat >:D...and get right on the ride...without THE LINE!! :D so the first fastpass we collected was....SOARIN' OVER CALIFORNIA...too long a line had no desire to wait >_> WE'LL COME BACK TO IT! so next stop...the wilderness adventure trail thingy for little kids...its was like a little mini exploration trail thingy with slides and caves and rope bridges (which my brother was SCARED of...BE A MAN >__> ). Well he's definetly permanetly scarred from the house of horror thing, since he refused to go into any type of dark cave...I DONT BLAME HIM >_> this kind of exposure to the dark and scary side of the world would leave ANYONE scarred for life....ME ESPECIALLY ==" So had nice lunch inside that place...sat on the log benches...while my mom dozed and my dad took my brother to ride some more tire ziplining. That zipline was for kids below the age of 12!! :O im finally feeling old...15....:( and it looked so fun too...at least it made me feel relatively tall, since it had a height limit :P go kind-of-tall-but-not-really people!! So after having a nice and cool lunch i ran back to the grizzly river run to grab fast passes so we can come back to that later too. Fast passes are, sadly, limited to time. So we have to wait a while before getting another one, otherwise, everyone would be getting them! unless they're blind or understand no signs or english...in which case...IT CAN'T BE HELPED >_> so we hit the ariel/little mermaid adventure after that, they had a nice and short line so we got into the clam shells in no time ;) So we rode in the giant clamshells (two in each) and went through another dark entrance (sorry allan :( )and we basically got a retelling of the tale of the little mermaid who traded her tail and voice for love... AWWW :') WASNT THAT A SWEET STORY.....NEXT! lol, the story was told in song...through REALLY LOUD SPEAKERS ==" went deaf after the first two songs, no wonder my brother got a scare. Next we went back to California Soarin' after the fastpasses came into effect and we got on in..2mins! the normal standby line was like 50mins long...HAHA SUCKERS :P (told you we'd come back to it), well it was a flight simulation ride. Basically there was a huge 3D screen showing places from all over california, and we sat in seats that were raised after the "ride" started and they moved in time with the movie. So for example, if there were mountains in the movie, the seats would be dipping and swerving as if we're really in the mountain, thus the name " CALIFORNIA SOARIN' " ahhhh ;) NOW YOU GET IT DONT YA? :D well i thought it was pretty boring...and couldnt see the reason behind the long line, but i supposed it sounds and looks like such an amazing ride, or maybe i just have some sort of a problem :P Dad liked it a lot..so did allan...and mom.....I THINK IM THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM HERE ==" well then we made our way to Goofy's sky School, where we learned how to fly like...you guessed it...GOOFY!!! XD we got the fast passes for the ride before we left for california soarin' so we were all ready to ride it after we walked back from california soarin' If Goofy flew the way the ride went, he'd be an illegal pilot >_> lol, it was like the mousetrap we used to have at Playland in Vancouver, don't know why they took it down :O but anyhow, allan enjoyed it quite a bit, and it was the first bit of action i felt here at the park since we arrived :) then we went on a bunch of baby rides for allan, and i accompanied him on the carousel twice ;) IM PROUD TO SAY THAT IM STILL LIKE A KID..THE CAROUSEL IS SO FUNNN!! XD IF ONLY IT WENT ON FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME :( lol by that time, the sun was already SUPER HOT in the sky, and my mom looked a bit like a strawberry :P lets just say the sun loves her a lot ;) Then i wanted to go on the only roller coaster in the park: California Screamin' " but allan was too short, so dad took him on the swing ride and the ferris wheel ride while mom and i waited in line for the roller coaster. The roller coaster was probably the best ride in the park...NO DUHH...except for the tower of terror, but i realized that i feel no more excitement. I mean...C'MON! after the behemoth at wonderland, it's NOTHING :O I NEED TO GO TO SIX FLAGS!! These rides were located at Paradise Pier, one of the mose beautiful and iconic places of the park. It's so..PARADISE-Y ;) The world of color was showing here at night too. Anyways, next we went on a bread tour and my brother seriously just pressed his face against the window wall as the people were making the bread, and i swear he looked like he was going to be the next best bread maker in the world :P He was SO CUTE! :') hehe, so lets skip some boringer parts of the park and we move on to the the aladdin musical show! that was amazing, ad hilarious. Now, i really want to watch the actual disney movie of it. I've never seen it, didnt even knew the plot until i saw the musical. All i knew before was...A GENIE, A PRINCESS, A FLYING CARPET, AND A CHARMING AND CUTE GUY :P but it's actually such a cute story... AWWWW :') so yea, saw the musical and then we left the park for dinner back at the hotel :) i went for a swim YAY...and it felt SO GOOOD! we had to rush back to the park after for the world of color show that we had fastpasses for...but sadly we were late and had to squeeze in somewhere along the back. luckily allan didnt come back out with us, so we didnt have too much trouble ;) yes! The show was really amazing and worth it. It was beautiful and so cool with all the different fountain effects and color effects. as well as the movie projections on the fans/screens of water. The music was so well chosen and it was just marvelous :) lol and right before we left the park, dad and i decided to go on the tower of terror because we got fastpasses for it ==" i thought it was another haunted house and i began to prepare myself mentally for it. Almost died of an heart attack before i even got INTO the ride ==" but luckily it was just some weird story, yay for no scary people jumping out at me and trying to scare me to death and cause me to have an heart attac :D the ride was just an elevator going up and down REALLY FAST. like it'd climb and then drop super fast. There were parts of the ride where doors opened and we could see the whole bird's eye view of california adventure park! it was beyond cool! though dad scared me as we were walking back towards the exit by shouting suddenly to try to scare me. WELL HE SUCCEEDED ==" congratz dad.

SO YEA THAT WAS JUST THE FIRST DAY OF DISNEYLAND. going to combine the second and third day since it's all a part of the other disneyland park ;) and besides, it'll save me some work trying to post everything up :) okay, toodles!

Day 7

Day at Hollywood and Universal Studios

(hey guys wrote some of this on day 7 and some after day 7...like around day 10...so translate all the "todays"...into "that day" and SO ON...BECAUSE I STARTED WITH TODAY ON DAY 7..SO I'LL JUST CONTINUE WRITING WITH "TODAY" ;) excuse my laziness to change everything around..BUT EXCUSE YOU FOR BEING SO PICKY >_> anyways..READ ON!

'Sup Peoplezz,

So today i woke up at.....6!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ;) and then i went back to sleep :P hey i got up at 6 to turn off my alarm...so it was pretty good for me ;) and then i managed to drag myself up at 8 :D Sadly we didnt get to Universal Studios until about 10:15 cuz my parents wanted to get a discounted cityPASS for southern california at the costco, but they opened at 10 ==. But it turns out that they didnt carry the item, SO WE BASICALLY WASTED AN HOUR OR SO :O outrageous i know! j/k :P i love my parents ;) So upon the arrival of universal studios we parked at the jurassic park parking lot. and within a few minutes we were parked and inside universal city :D wow...the parking lots are so much more spacious and well sign-ed than those in richmond :O no wonder theres no accidents here :D well i supposed they need to have nice parking lots...to prepare those going to universal studios with a right mind and attitude...(cuz y'know..happy from a nice parking...good mood...yadayadayada..)...SO PRO..PYSCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS O__O lol or maybe im just looking too deep into this :P anyways, there was a huge guitar and stage as we entered the city...and KING KONG was hanging from a building! Of course all cardboard ;) Then we got to universal studios and had a great time taking pictures of the giant spinning globe...cuz haha...universal=global..GLOBE...get it? wait...am I the only person who realizes this THIS LATE? ==" AH WELL NEVERMIND...SO BOUGHT THE PASS AND ENTERED THE STUDIOS! first STOP was...the house of HORRORS...DADADADUMMMMMM DADADADUMMM...yea scary...I KNOW :( I DID NOT want to go in...cuz YES...the great and fat yi fan is scared of the dark and scary things of the night. Dad forced me to go in...said it would be a waste of money if i didnt try EVERYTHING :\ got so scared i almost burst into tears before i entered the dark entrance :( I held on to my grandpa's hand, closed my eyes and grabbed onto my dad's backpack (he was in front of me) and basically rushed through the whole thing....which was an improvement from the last time i was in one of those....THINGS >_> LAST TIME I SCREAMED THE WHOLE ENTIRE WAY...WITH MY EYES CLOSED...AND RUNNING THE ENTIRE WAY ==" THANKFULLY THAT WAS OVER QUICKLY :) then we proceeded to the next nearest attraction...which was..."WE PROUDLY PRESENT.....SHREEEEEEEEEEK 4DDDDDDDDDDD!!" LOL that was my best imitation of a show voice...in print ;) it had an amazingly short line and we got into the theater in no time at all :D It was an awesome show with some cool 4D effects with the chairs and the water spraying...im surprised they didnt have seatbelt to secure everyone :O what if a litte kid fell off his chair during the chase part and smashed his mouth on the back of another chair? :O O WELL..NOT GOING TO SAY ANYTHING ELSE..YOU GOTTA GO SEE IT YOURSELF ;) it was worth the VERY SHORT WAIT THOUGH ;) and guess what kids?...shrek was taking pictures right next to the theater! with fiona! yea...so allan and i took pictures with the big ogre..think allan was scared of him lol :P so lets see....what did we do next....?...OH YEA! lunchtime XD i love mealtimes..and snacktimes...:D so we stopped by the curious george waterpark and the indoor ball jungle thingymabobber...and we had lunch in the mini bleachers there overlooking the water playground/park...it was so nice watching the little kids getting all wet..and having a sandwich at the same time :D so refreshing...not at all hot like i thought it would be, but thank God for all the gigantic fans with cool mist installed everywhere in the park... at least it made waiting in line a little bearable :) so after lunch i took my little brother with me and we managed to get through the water park/playground place without getting wet! YAY! GO ME! so after avoiding all those buckets of water pouring down on us...we entered into the indoor ball jungle thingamabobber...we played for quite a bit...picking up foam balls and shooting them out of cannon like shooters...and chucking them at one another (DAD >__> IN PARTICULAR SEEMED TO BE AIMING AT MY HEAD ALL THE TIME HMM...) we FINALLY managed to dragged Allan out of there without him causing a scene (PHEWW) and we went on...barging through the crowds with the stroller...MUHAHAHA like a steam roller...except we didnt flattened anybody...:(...I MEAN...GREAT! :D next stop we supposed to be the studio tour...but we had to wait in line for 65 MINS...i mean..ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? IM NOT WAITING IN LINE FOR 65 FUNTASTICAL MINUTES >__> so we decided to come back later and got in line for the simpsons ride. It's a terrible experience watching people with line bypassers...and just strolling on ahead without waiting for like HALF AN HOUR FOR A RIDE....>_> The simpson's ride was pretty fun...took pictures with...the one and ooonly......BART SIMPSON! :D The ride wasnt actually a ride...it was more like a virtual simulation...REALLY INTERESTING AND FUN THOUGH :D no matter how fake it was...it didnt seem fake at all ;) though the spit part was A LITTLE disgusting...(but let me not ruin it for you ;) )...after THAT we decided to go back to the studio tour..after all, we agreed that no matter how long the line was...we needed to see it....SO WE WAITED. and FINALLLLY we got on the tour tram (there were 4 trams linked together in one line) and we were on the fourth tram. The tour guide was so witty and hilarious...so we went around the sound stages where the interior scenes were shot..and we went to the backlots where the outdoor scenes are shot. There were episodes of CSI and Desperate Housewives shooting when we were on the tour...and we experience some really cool effects like flash floods and explosions and cars dancing in the air (LOL LONG STORY...well no...short story...long explanation) and shark attacks...and of course a surprise JUST for tram 4 ==" then we entered into the world's largest 260 degrees 3D screen...of KING KONG! it was such an amazing experience...so realistic and astounding :D THIS TOUR IS A DEFINITE MUST-SEE IF ANYONE'S GOING TO UNIVERSAL STUDIO! XD Rightios, grandpa liked it as well...SO THATS AMAZING! :) then we proceeded to the Jurassic Park water log ride...where guess what...? WE WAITED IN LINE AGAIN! at least it wasnt that long a line...in ALMOST no time at all we were cruising along the "river" in a logboat and getting spitted on by huge life sized dinosaurs :D thrilling isnt it? ;) well we ended up passing through another sound stage with another flash flood and a t-rex trying to bite someone's head off...fortunately..no one on the boat was taller than 2 metres ;) then we took a 75feet plunge down into the river at the end...I DIDNT GET SOAKED!! i was so sad :( i sat on the outside in hopes of getting wet...but NOOOO....the ppl in the middle had to get wet...WHAT KIND OF LOGIC IS THAT?? :O /sigh there went my plan of getting soaked...and the people who got soaked...DIDNT WANT TO GET SOAKED! what kind of justice is that? :( Thankfully we didnt have time to go on the MUMMY PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER RIDE...i think i would have wet my pants....and had an HEART ATTACK... especially after the morning's house of horrors..."GIRL, 15, DIES PREMATURELY OF A HEART ATTACK ON THE PYSCHOLOGICAL THRILLING RIDE: MUMMY." ==" hehe...so after that we had dinner in the "food court"...we had MEXICAN! it was so HOT AND SPICY-LY GOOD! XD and we rushed to the last show of the water world. and guess what...it was a show...on...WATER!! gasp well whaddya know. lol, the actors were hilarious, continous squirting of water on unaware passerbys...HEHE EVIL....I LIKE >:D the show was set in the future, with action and fighting, fireworks, explosions, stunts, an enormous airplane and water boat skier thingys :P good show :) i realized that all the attraction at universal all have some sort of virtual dramatic effects...WHICH IS SUPER COOL XD right after the show, we rushed out of the park and headed for the walk of fame in HOLLYWOOD!! but sadly we didnt get to see the sign "HOLLYWOOD" on the way there :( my parents didnt realize that the walk of fame wasnt IN universal studios...and that it was A PUBLIC attraction..but all was good :) walked along on the sidewalks...next to famous actors and famous people's names..well actually we stepped right on those names. which was ironic...because they're huge stars, yet we're here, stepping on their names and stars...took pictures...and we went on our way...AGAIN. last stop of the day...DISNEYLAND! well NO, we werent going to disneyland that VERY NIGHT...what do you think we are..CRAZY?!?..well actually I AM..but thats another story ;) we checked into our hotel at anaheim at 12AM..yes 12AM...and we all promptly FELL ASLEEP...big surprise there eh? :P

SO YES...THAT WAS HOW OUR DAY 7 WENT...I'VE STILL GOT ALL THE DISNEYDAYS TO COMPLETE..WISH ME LUCK!

Day 6

From Cambria to Los Angeles

Alright folks!

Let me try to keep it short for you today, though i don't think that's very possible with my blabbering...BUT I WILL TRY...AND TRY...AND TRY AGAIN!!! OKAY...to limit myself, so i can sleep early and explore hollywood tomorrow, i shall write everything in ONE paragraph today...hopefully :P HERE GOES:

(darn it...two paragraphs already!) Well i woke up this morning at 7:30! YES THAT'S RIGHT...7:30..IN THE MORNING!!! aren't you all so proud of me? but i was still the second last person up, stupid parents. My dad still RUNS/JOGS every morning....CRAZY O_O If my entry made no sense yesterday, it's probably because i was three quarters asleep while i wrote it yesterday night, but TONIGHT IS ALL GOOD :) I HOPE ;) So we all had an early breakfast and drove back up the highway to Hearst Castle, which we all missed yesterday because the tours ended before we could get there :( Well we were there today so HA! ANYWAYS, we got on the tour that started at 9:30, so we had a little free time before we boarded the bus that would get us there. There was a little museum so we wandered around and had pictures taken and blah blah blah...etc. OH!! before we get too far in my marvelous storytelling, WE SAW ZEBRAS!! YES...ACTUAL, REAL LIFE, LEGIT, BREATHING, MOVING ZEBRAS! :D They were grazing the field as we drove by on the highway. Later we learned that they used to a part of Mr.Hearst's private zoo. WEALTHY MAN HE WAS. anyways, we boarded the bus HOORAY! and the bus took us up a long winding and steep path up the mountain, where hearst castle stood. Holey macaroni, i wonder how the people got up there in the Hearst's time without the paved roads. One wrong roll of the wheel...and we'd be ROLLIN' DOWN THE MOUN'AIN SIDE ;) well we got to the castle and our tour guide was a funny guy...mexican too (i meant no racism there by the way)...he led up up the 150step long staircases up to the castle. The castle was simply GRAND AND HUGE. Apparently, Hearst wanted to build an imitation of a Mediteranean village up on the "Enchanted Hill" (aka the MOUNTAIN...nothing hill like about it...TRUST ME), but sadly he died before finishing the construction. But before he died, he reported that he had only built FIFTY PERCENT of what he wanted...THAT IS TRULY AMAZING. Theres different house looking over different views and they all surrounded the main castle. He used to have the largest private zoo in the whole entire world...but i guess all the animals were shipped away :( POOR ANIMALS :( He was such a RICH MAN. Must have been hard living with the poor people on the hill...it's quite astonishing that no-one robbed him...well i guess no one would...since he's got the sign "guard dogs on premises" :P OH GREAT IM BLABBING ONO AGAIN ARENT I? continuing on with my brief (i promise its BRIEF!) history lesson: he hired a woman architect to build and design it. wonder what drove him to do that? especially in the olden days...but i guess he was an eccentric AND RICH man...he could probably do whatever he wanted to ;) anyways, theres 115rooms in the castle, of which 38 were bedrooms and 42 were bathrooms...lol more bathrooms than bedrooms...hmm must be the trademark of a female architect :P enough of that, LETS O THROUGH WHAT WE DID THERE. So we werent allowed to touch the marble stuff or the limestone stuff or the room stuff or the FLOOR FOR THAT MATTER. cuz they could all date back to the 1400's == SERIOUSLY NOW?! WELL FOR THE RECORD, if i died...NO ONE IS TO TOUCH MY ROOM >_> SOO.....WE TOURED THE DINING ROOM...YUMM...THE MAIN SITTING ROOM AND THE PRIVATE THEATER...TOLD YOU HE WAS FILTHY RICH. then we went outside and took like a MILLION pictures of the gardens, the castle and of course...THE POOLS. The prettiest outdoor pool you'll probably EVER see in your life. It's so...PRETTY IN A POOL WAY XP there's tons of fruit trees and scuptures of naked people...a very interesting collection mr.hearst had i sure ;) The architecture was pretty amazing, and his land is IMMENSE. I'd say you could get lost in it, but it's pretty flat... :P Then my grandpa got lost....but luckily we found him! yay...he didnt wander too far ;) we left the castle and got back to the center place thingy where we got on the bus. Of course at that time, we should all be pretty tired, which was why we should've ate lunch and continued onto LA...but NOO....my parents insisted on watching the "movie" about the explanation of why the castle was built...and blah blah blah...OBVIOUSLY I DIDNT GO WATCH IT...i FELLY ASLEEP on the bus ride down the mountain...DO YOU REALLY THINK I COULD'VE STAYED AWAKE IN THE THEATER?! so i went back to the car with grandpa and enjoyed a nice lunch and wrote a couple pages in my journal ;) (YES...A COUPLE PAGES XP, TOLD YOU IM A BLABBY PERSON :P) and then my parents came back and...YAY OFF WE GO AROUND THE MULBERRY BUSH...i mean..THE HIGHWAY...sorry...needed some variation here ;) So we ended up in the Costco at San Luis Obispo...where we were supposed to be YESTERDAY(the city i mean, not the costo ==)...but whateves ;) So next stop was the rest area where we stopped for.....BREAKFAST...NO >__> DINNER OF COURSE ;) just messing with you :P ugh...the sushi totally destroyed my appetite..;.so i had a small dinner and played tag with my little brother. He was WAY too slow...so he enlisted help from my parents to come at me all together ==. THREE AGAINST ONE...TOTALLY UNFAIR....BUT GUESS WHAT? no one caught me! PRO-NESS RIGHT HERE. though i thought i was going to die from over exertion >_> anyways after dinner and bathroom visits we continued on to LOS ANGELES. We got to the motel at around...8...cuz we missed a turn THREE TIMES...LA IS TOO BIG :O 6 WHOLE FREAKING LANES and it's not even downtown @.@ AT LEAST WE GOT TO THE MOTEL SAFELY...THANK GOD :) i took a really nice shower...and had a WHOLE CHICKEN...YES A WHOLE CHICKEN...I WAS HUNGRY OKAY? >__> SEE...THATS WHY I NEED THE EXERCISE...LIKE TAG ;) DARN IT! TOO LONG....AGAIN...IM TERRIBLY SORRY FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO LOOKED FORWARD TO A SHORT POST....:( MY BAD... :D AHH WELL SUCK IT UP...I'LL TRY AGAIN TMR ;) though it'll be unlikely tomorrow...JUST A WARNING ;)

so GOODNIGHT EVERYONE (MISSING YOU PPLZZ :( )

-YIIIIIIIII FAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN ;)

BTW..WE'RE GOING TO HOLLYWOOD AND UNIVERSAL STUDIOS TMR!!!

Day 5

San Francisco to San Luis Obispo (original plan)

all seasons in one day

Hi people,

How's life? Enjoying yourselves? :) Day 5 ALREADY...seemed like so long ago that we departed from our dear old spanish arched house. Ahhh...we miss you dear white (or supposed to be white, but with a little bit of discoloration) house :'( oh PSHH the driving these past few days were smooth and short..ish :D unlike the terribly boring 10hr first day drive :O You'd think i wouldnt get hungry sitting in the car all day...but I DO...I GET ABSOLUTELY STARVING. It was so much easier to navigate along these routes than the really coastal highway towards san francisco :) But we barely stopped today to look at any view points. All we did was stop for lunch and we drove the rest of the way. Anyways, let me tell you "briefly"(my summaries are never short are they? :P) about our day ;)

So this morning..i wasnt the last one up!! and i had to take care of allan while we waited from grandpapa and mama and papa to finish their walk around the neighborhood. They took grandpa because he didnt want to go yesterday, and im glad he didnt go with us yesterday, he might have really fainted or died :O anyways my parents took him to see the town hall and the civic center while allan and i were stuck at home lol j/k. Got allan dressed, thank God he isnt THAT slow ;) then we both sat down, prayed for the food and DUG IN! BTW...correction to yesterday's entry about eating 6 burgers, we actually had 10 burgers ;) anyways we finished breakfast but the adults werent back yet so i got allan installled right now in the position of tv-watching ;) they bought arizone tea for him...UM EXCUSE ME PARENTS...WHERE IS MINE?!? :O allan and i had a carrot vs french fries contest. I had two baby carrots and allan had two french fries; we wanted to see who would finish first..and guess what? The winner wasnt me this time :'( Yes little Yin won :P Our parents came home from their morning excursion and we setted out again, braving the long and boring highway ;) One thing terrible happened last night. As i was finishing up my journal entry, and i was writing in ink, i nodded off to sleep land :O UNFORTUNATELY the pen rolled underneath ME and i slept on it ALL NIGHT, so by the time i woke up this morning, i HAD HUGE INKBLOTS all over the sheets and my legs ==" IM AN AMAZING PERSON ARENT I? DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET INK OFF YOUR SKIN?!?! /sigh...me and my astounding stupidity :P Anyways we were on the highway till lunchtime, which is amazing. But considering that we left the city late, it wasnt as long as it sounds like it was ;) On the way there I saw Stanford University!! I THOUGHT IT WAS ON THE EAST COAST, FAIL. and AMAZINGLY, i napped during the short drive. But you should know already...im an AMAZING PERSON ;) Stopped in the town of Monterey for lunch, and we ate at the beach there. Allan and i were wandering along the coast and he's honestly so scared of the seaweed thingys, i swear he jumps out of his skin everytime i throw one at him... WHICH IS WHY I AS HIS OLDER SISTER HAD TO TRAIN HIM ;) to be less of a scaredy cat..and be more like....ME..OF COURSE :P made him touch it, but him, not being the smartest kid, still believed they were alive and wanted to eat him. For the sky's sake boy, you're a MALE. act like a MALE. well no...dont do that, then you'll be behaving like cavemen...(J/K...there ARE some decent guys out there ;) ) Allan was pretty scared of the incoming waves too, had to coax him into trying the water out, and FINALLY....PRAISE THE LORD...FINALLY TOUCHED THE WATER. He LOVED it ==" so we stayed there for another 45mins...and killed my feet the coldness of the sea water :\ my parents held hands and walked across the beach. I guess they needed some alone time together, i totally understand. If i was my parent, i'd want to take a break every so often too. After all, no one can stand my brilliance for a long time :P The sand wasnt as fine and there were like rocks. The sand was PIPING hot, i coud've make barbecue feet today. The portapottys were just NASTY, as usual. Continued on our way after lunch and drove along the...dadadadum....HIGHWAY! gasp. lol we stopped at an elephant seals home beach of a sort. They STANK, they SMELL and they were fat and lazy and huge blobs of blubber :P LOOKED LIKE HUGE CATERPILLARS ON THE BEACH XP we continued on and we were going to tour the hearst castle, but apparently they were closed for the day BOOHOO. so my parents drove a couple more mile up the freeway and found a small town with the name of CAMBRIA. Suckishly, we gotta get up early tomorrow morning to make the first tour. YAY (SENSE MY SARCASM? >_>;) im awful at getting up >< meanwhile...in reality: we found an inn and we ate dinner in the hotel room...LIKE USUAL. but we were too late to witness the sunset sadly. but at least we went GROCERY SHOPPING! :D and then we still dropped by the beach as it was getting darker and darker and just stood there, to each his or her own thoughts. The waves were so hungry and ravenous and savage at night. or maybe that's due to my fear of the dark. UGH. as the last sliver of light leaves the horizon, the darkness engulfed it and rolled into the city. At last we drove back and got ready for bed :) OMG...DID I TELL YOU? INSTEAD OF THE LITTLE BOTTLE OF SHAMPOO HOTELS USUALLY HAND OUT, THIS INN HAS A DISPENSER!!! ISNT THAT COOOOOL? XD WELL..i better go, before i REALLY cant get up tmr :\

NIGHT PPLZZ :) (MISSING ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS </3, WHETHER YOU'RE IN VANCITY OR NOT VANCITY :P)

-Yi FaN :D

btw, we're heading to LOS ANGELES TMR!!! XD HOLLYWOOD, WONT THAT BE EXCITING?

Day 4

Stay in San Francisco

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS, (no, we’re not at Mars, don’t you worry ;) )

Once again, I overslept :O LAST ONE UP…hey! Don’t be so surprised, it’s what happens when I sleep late ;) DUHH. And yes, not all my fault either, had to write up the entry hehe. Today we went on a tour of San Francisco since we got here too late yesterday and by “tour” I mean a self tour lol. We got day passes and rode on the “MUNI” yay, san fran language :D for those of you who have NO IDEA what I mean, “muni” is their “translink” here. And IF YOU STILL DON’T KNOW WHAT I MEAN….THEN IT SUCKS TO BE YOU. NO J/K…they’re all transit systems, but you NEED to get yourself to Vancouver before you die, THE place to visit ;) and of course, the home of people like yours truly, and you know how rare that it ;) ANYWAYS, it was nice walking around the WHOLE CITY and BUSING, except for the fact that it was a tad bit tiring…JUST A TAD. Well by “tad” I mean I feel like dropping dead right now ==” but that’s so much better than driving in a car and dropping in at random tourist attractions or taking a tour. When I bus, I feel like visiting the city as a tourist, but at the same time, trying to experience the everyday life of a san franciscoian ( I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT PEOPLE HERE ARE CALLED, SO CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG :P ), of course im sure that normal san fran-ians don’t bus to golden gate bridge and take pics everyday for fun but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN ;) SO….OUR DAY:

Early in the morning, we packed all our food and stuff into a backpack and set out on our “on foot day tour”…YIN FAMILY STYLE XD Our first planned destination was…….TOURIST INFO CENTER! The front dest dude was quite rude…which was a surprise..thought tourist-helping people were supposed to be nice. After all, we ARE visiting YOUR city >__> but bought day passes for the transit and we start walking toward the center of all this busy-ness ;D saw stuff like sephora and forever 21 on the streets..lol Richmond center…SAN FRAN STYLE XP and we were about to wait in line to ride those old-fashioned cable car/streetcars but the line was ULTRA LOOONG and so we left. I mean…who would wait in line for an hour to ride in a streetcar?!?! (OF COURSE US…BUT THAT COMES LATER..PATIENCE YOUNG PADIWAN ;) ) Got on the bus and left the busy downtown area towards the golden gate bridge :D people on the bus are SO NICE :D well I think everyone here was SUPER NICE…unlike Vancouver >_> and the way the signs and stuff are organized, they’d think this city was tri-lingual :O everything was not JUST in English…but SPANISH AND CANTONESE :O and by Cantonese I mean Chinese in general ;) barely saw any white people here :O SURPRISING ISNT IT? Got to the bridge YAY and took a BILLION pictures there LOL Bridge was MAJESTIC and SO ORANGY-ITICLY BEAUTIFUL XD it’s apparent 2.7k across and mom and I walked the ENTIRE BRIDGE AND BACK :O 5 KILOMETERS…HALF THE SUNRUN…NO WONDER IM TIRED >< awesome experience though, I mean, what could be better than walking on the sidewalk right beside the incoming cars, and having a huge truck bearing huge tree trunks speed towards you? XD it’s amazingly scary, EXHILARATING :D nothing like it ;) the water was SEA BLUE-GREEN, ha! Get it? “SEA” BLUE-GREEN? Y’KNOW? CUZ IT’S ACTUALLY THE SEA? Nevermind…im weird, I KNOW ;P well the walk took FOREVER..well no..not ACTUALLY FOREVER…but close enough…not really…FINE. Let me clarify: by forever, I mean an extremely large amount of time which is not FOREVER. But I use hyperboles to make it seem more interesting…y’know? ;) but I’d rather walk than DRIVE across…driving makes the butt numb and the brain dumb (THAT RHYMED!!) XD hehe..SECOND STOP the golden gate park…and SURPRISINGLY, it’s nowhere NEAR the bridge ==” WHATS UP WITH THAT? :O we took a tour through the botanical garden, lol even though everything looked the same to me..and saw some CANADIAN GEESE! Hello fellow Canadians! :D that was boring, and feet hurting, but got some nice pics ;) and mom had tons of fun :P NEXT STOP: FISHERMAN’S WHARF. Oooh that was FUN. Went on a cruise on the bay. The boat sped around and under the bridge WOOT. Too bad it didn’t go any faster…but I guess that’s what amusement parks are for eh? Then it went around the island of ALCATRAZ (reminds me of Azkaban), which was an island for the prisoners of war during the war as well as a US federal prison for the WORST criminals..MUST HAVE BEEN FUN FOR THEM. HOPE NONE OF THEIR GHOSTS HAUNT THAT ISLAND O_O lastly we saw some SEAL sun tanning on these wooden rafts in the water. So fat and grey and CHUBBY XP reminds me of underwater pigs ;) After the cruise, we wandered around fisherman’s wharf, it’s SO MUCH MORE LARGE THAN THE TINY ONE WE HAVE IN RICHMOND, BC (not the san fran Richmond ;)) THERES SOME REALLY GOOD CLAM CHOWDER THERE!! AND FRIED SEAFOOD…but so oily ughh :( allan liked it though, well he’s a pig, I can understand hehe ;) wandered more and got to the other end of the cable car station where we decided to wait for…45MINS IN THE WIND. I was SHIVERING >< and I felt like a dead person…who’s COLD == THAT WAS HOW COLD I WAS. SURPRISED I DIDN’T GET PNEUMONIA, OR LARYGNITIS, OR WHATEVER IT IS YOU GET FROM BEING TOO EXPOSED TO THE COLD >_> took the streetcar/cable car all the way back to downtown san Francisco where we had like 6 burgers XP HEY, WE WERE HUNGRY. Then we wandered around the civic center and town hall as the night fell. The lights made the town hall look like the white house LOL. And eventually we wandered back to the hotel :) where I took, yes, a BOILING shower :D AND NOW I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD SLEEP…IM SO DEAD…(FIGURATIVELY SPEAKING OF COURSE ;) ) ‘night peoples. MISSING VANCOUVER!! AND THE PEOPLE THERE..OF COURSE :P (and for those leaving Vancouver for whatever reason, WISH YOU A GOOD TRIP :) MISS YOU :( )

-yI fAn (Yi Fan is getting so boring :P )

BTW: SAN LUIS OBISPO IS COMING UP NEXT!! (YAY FUNKY NAME AGAIN XD)

Song i learned from my brother ;)

Down by the bay, where the watermelons grow
Back to my home, i dare not go,
for if i do, my mother will say:
[have you ever seen a moose kissing a goose?]
down by the bay (and REPEAT)

by switch the phrase with []s:

[have you ever seen a whale with a polka dotted tail?]
[have you ever seen a fly wearing a tie?]
[have you ever seen a bear combing his hair?]

LOL you can entertain yourselves with this while i write up the new entry ;)

Day 3

GARBERVILLE TO SAN FRANCISCO

Howdy folks ( no we’re not in Texas ;) ),

First stop at a big city in the united states of America…SAN FRANCISCO!! :) To tell you the truth, I rather detest the bigger cities; too many people not enough beauty, but whateves ;) we’re here so we’re here. Bear with me, the internet’s super slow…1 MBPS. Seriously?!? I THOUGHT CALIFORNIA WAS THE HIGH TECH STATE >__> anyways, the drive here was beautiful, so I guess we gain some we lose some, right? One thing great about hotel/motels/inn/whatever is that their showers are marvelous and hot water’s unlimited :D Alright here’s a “brief” summary of our trip:

This morning, got up at around 7ish….despite my late night :P and hooray!! I wasn’t the last one up, my brother was, HA! :D had milk and bread and stuff for breakfast and we headed towards San Francisco :) The beds last night were pretty comfy, but then I can pretty much sleep anywhere, so I’m not the best judge of beds ;) Note to self, never travel again with my little brother. He’s the most annoying travelling companion EVER. It was all I can do today to avoid strangling him. Then we left highway 101 for the coastal highway. That drive was the most interesting and dangerous and exhilarating drive I’ve ever been on. One wrong step…or I should so..i wrong TIRE and we would’ve been over the edge of a mountain. And YES it’s the COASTAL highway. But rest assured, the coast is coming up ;) Anyways, that was so scary…or so claims my dad. But im not going to contradict him, after all, he’s the driver :P The road narrowed to a point where the yellow line dividing the two sides was gone, leaving space for ONE CAR. Did I mention this was RIGHT NEXT TO A CLIFF? EXCITING STUFF RIGHT? :D sharp turns and steep slopes made this seem like a Mario kart circuit XD We were on that path for hours…well I guess only 2ishh..3ishh..BUT STILL XD and I fell asleep…cuz I got bored :P but WE FINALLY saw the beach. Lol everybody in the car started screaming..its like LAND AHOY! Except…it’s BEACH/OCEAN AHOY!! We stopped in the mountain for lunch, and we peed in the bushes :P …er TMI…well whatevers, ‘tis nourishing for nature :) Second stop was COOK BEACH. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS…and though the sand WASN’T WHITE—my mom kept insisting it was…check your eyes mom—it was so fine and smooth and AHHHHH...we went to work burying each other’s legs and my brother was so into it. Maybe he’ll make a fine construction worker one day XD found some dead transparent jellyfishes on the beach :O and then there was this little cove that you had to race the water to get to. The waves were so…MAJESTIC. Dashing themselves upon the very rocks we were standing on. AHH…and beaches are so ROMANTIC (I believe I mentioned that in my other post…but STILL…especially after watching my parents walk hand in hand :’) )Went through some funny town with names like: GUALALA… (im deeply sorry if you’re from Gualala, and I hope this does not offend you in any way shape or form) but THE NAME IS HILARIOUS…as well as it was a beautiful town ;) Went to another beach along the way called Blind Beach, but that was mainly cuz grandfather was feeling carsick due to the numerous sharp turns and braking on the perilous route :O But the sand was so grainy there…not at all like COOK BEACH. Didn’t see any eagles along the route…surprisingly…but there were tons of VULTURES… wonder who died… :\ Had to sing tons of children’s songs as we were nearing San Francisco because dad started to get tired and I wanted to get him alert. Learned new songs from my brother too, and I got banished to the back seats when mom switched with dad to drive. Arrived in San Francisco around 7ish and drove around looking for a hotel. Big cities makes me miss Vancouver :’( The streets here are so confusing :\ GONNA GET LOST X__X anyways yea, so sitting in the staircase of the hotel cuz the internet connection in my room sucks..gotta go…battery’s running out...NIGHT EVERYONE :) (MISSING VANCOUVER AND EVERYONE THERE :’( )
-YI FAN

BTW…WE’RE STAYING IN SAN FRANCISCO TMR…

Day 2

Coos Bay to Redway, California

semi-overcast
View States 2011 on seatosky's travel map.

Hiyas people once again ;)

So we're now in the beautiful state of California :) doesnt look all that much different from Oregon, but i suppose thats 'cause we havent reached the really pretty parts yet :P Ahh well, at least the drive today was shorter than yesterdays, only 6 hours wooot!! :D Sounds long to those of you who dont drive to far away places doesnt it?...trust me, it's WAY better than the 10hrs we drove yesterday ;) tried it yourself one day..and you'll understand what i mean. But it's still quite funny how i managed to sleep even more than yesterday on the car, but guess i was too tired from tumbling down sand dunes and running along the beaches :P SO INSTEAD OF MY DROPPING THESE LITTLE HINTS OF WHAT WE DID...LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE WHOLE DAY ;) cant keep you guys guessing all night can i? :P

So we got up at 7 in the morning, well my parents, and my grandpa and my little brother did anyway, i was pretty exhausted from the long trip yesterday. SEE, told you being a passenger is tiring too :O My dad went for a RUN this morning in the little town of Coos Bay and he said it was a marvellous experience. I don't get whats so marvellous about getting up at 6 and running, but i get the whole "running in a small town is marvellous" thing :) too bad i havent ran in such a long time or get up early enough to run with him :\ anyways i wasnt sleeping for long after my brother got up. I swear he's the most annoying 4 year old EVER. He DOES NOT stop yabbering in the morning, and he attempted to kiss me awake...haha no such luck bro ;) only true love's kiss works :P Anyways i got up and had a good breakfast of milk and peanut butter sandwiches :) then we hit the road on route to redway, california. Well the first destination we arrived at was Bandon by sea and it was pretty foggy at that time in the morning too. But my parents wanted to look around and mainly, the reason we stopped was for the tourist info but yea ;) Bandon by the sea we nice but we wasted no time in getting back onto the highway. Yay, more driving! Second stop was at a view point/place called Battle Rock. So basically it's like a nice beach with a huge gigantic rock in the middle.we took some pictures and climb the rock. I climbed the rock anyways, i had to be VERY PERSUASIVE to get my dad and mom and allan up there with me..and it wasnt even all that high :O I feel so adventurous going up there all by myself, too bad my family didnt share the same feeling ==" The view up on that rock was beautiful, then i climbed down and assisted my mom and brother in getting down as well. Actually a better word for the way my family got down was...crawled...but umm...thats another matter. As we left that place, we passed by a road called "Kissing Rock Rd" lol so romantic eh? Thought some deep thoughts about an analogy of God to a GPS and we arrived at our lunch spot :) Yums, I was so hungry x.x We ate lunch in a town called Gold Beach, which is right at the border between Oregon and California and we park at a spot right next to the beach. So many beaches...but it IS along the coastal route so gee i wonder why? Had sandwiches and then we played at the beach. Went about barefooted on the hot sand...felt SO GOOD. Saw a dead sea lion on the beach...had to stifle a scream. I thought it was a log, and i ALMOST STEPPED on it >< GASP. then we walked along the water and found some REALLY PRETTY ROCKS XD beaches are like the ultimate romantic getaways, especially the image of walking hand in hand down the beach, which my parents did at one point...AWWWW :') hehe cute isnt it? :D Then we cleaned up and got back into the car and prepared to drive on. Little did we know, we stopped almost right after we hit the highway again for another amazing view point. this time there were sand dunes!!!! I GOT SO EXICTED, had to restrain myself from whooping with glee as i ran down the little hill thingy. The sand was unbelievebly soft, almost like running around in sugar...or even flour :O slid down sand dunes with allan and at the end, i managed to tumblr down one and got covered in sand. Got sand in my ear and down my shirt...it was FUN XD Got back into the car and guess what....DROVE ON!! :P Entered into the state of California and they had like a mini border crossing check....which was really weird. (Did you know the taxes here vary from one TOWN to another? CRAZY O.O) Stopped at an elk watching place, saw some elks (what a surprise :P ) nothing special there. Wish we saw some bears ;) Got to the motel at not too late a time and made dinner there. Well, my parents made dinner and i take a much needed shower :D then allan took a shower and we all ate dinner yay. and i got online and you know what im doing now :) WELL YOU SHOULD...UNLESS YOU DONT UNDERSTAND MY ENGLISH....in which case I AM VERY SORRY :\ i think i should get some sleep...its getting pretty late...need to wake up again tmr..UGHH. (MISSING YOU ALL </3)

xoxo...YI FAN (ha! got you there :P )

ps...or maybe BTW is better...

BTW...we're heading to San Francisco tmr! :)
